Potters Bluff è una tranquilla cittadina della West Coast statunitense. La
vita vi scorre senza sussulti, fino al giorno in cui strani fatti cominciano ad accadere: il ritrovamento di alcuni
cadaveri 

orribilmente straziati segna l'inizio di una lunga serie di delitti apparentemente inspiegabili e
con l'unico tratto comune di una morte violenta e brutale. Lo sceriffo indaga, ma non ha la benché minima pista 

da seguire. Qualche traccia gliela offre, infine, la moglie che egli sorprende ad insegnare stregoneria ai
propri alunni delle scuole elementari, ed anche l'addetto alle pompe funebri, strano tipo che considera 

un'arte ripulire e abbellire i cadaveri, lo mette in sospetto. Gli omicidi intanto continuano, ma la soluzione è
ormai vicina: i morti rinascono, una nuova ondata di "zombi" è pronta ad invadere la Terra.........
